£15.34

Brück & Sohn was a German art publisher founded in 1793 in Meißen, Saxony. It was one of the world's oldest picture postcard publishers and has been in the family for seven generations. It all started with an advent calendar with the Dresden Frauenkirche. It was our publisher's first advent calendar with a historical view of the city. The famous Canaletto motif of the Dresden Neumarkt was the inspiration here. Lovingly painted pictures were created that were supposed to hide behind the little window, like the plum slice and the Striezel children by Ludwig Richter. At that time we could still guess what symbolic power the Frauenkirche Dresden would one day emanate. But the courage of many Dresden citizens around Ludwig Güttler, who initiated and implemented the reconstruction of the Dresd.
